The authorized level of the position is Data Processing User Support Technician II. Applications are being accepted down to the Data Processing User Support Technician I in the event of recruiting difficulties. This role provides training and assistance to users on system equipment, procedures, and computer application programs. It involves troubleshooting hardware and software computer problems, diagnosing processing interruptions, and documenting problems and resolutions. The position also participates in testing new software releases, maintains contact with users to monitor training effectiveness, and assists users in simplifying the creation and maintenance of proprietary departmental information systems applications. Additionally, it involves creating models, worksheets, and electronic forms to support departmental requirements, performing rudimentary programming tasks for ad hoc reports, and performing work-site installation and reinstallation of system hardware and software. The role also includes scheduling and coordinating training center activities, ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, coordinating maintenance and repair of training center equipment, maintaining servers, and tracking expenditures.
