The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Data Processing Coordinator supporting our National Development team. The location for this position is remote. The coordinator maintains issue logs and process documentation, assists with routine monitoring, carries out approved data quality corrections, identifies recurring themes for escalation, and helps ensure that decisions, corrective actions, and outcomes are completed and documented. The role performs routine record-level and bulk data corrections in accordance with established procedures, approvals, and data-handling requirements. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Coursework or training in business administration, information systems, data management, project coordination, or a related area is helpful but not required.
  • Three (3) years of the following experience: Administrative, project coordination, customer support, data entry, operations, fundraising, or related experience
  • Experience using Salesforce to enter, review, update or research constituent, fundraising, or campaign records
  • Experience supporting one or more of the American Heart Association’s core campaigns, including Heart Walk or Go Red for Women, with a working understanding of related fundraising processes and terminology
  • Strong organization and follow-through, including the ability to manage multiple open items, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and document completed work.
  • Experience accurately entering, reviewing, or correcting records in a CRM, database, spreadsheet, or other business system, with strong attention to detail and the ability to validate completed work
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to gather complete information, ask clarifying questions, document issues and decisions, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Working knowledge of MS 365 tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel functions such as sorting, filtering, pivot tables, vlookup, and reviewing structured data lists

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Greater Giving, Luminate, Givergy, or MS Dynamics to review or support fundraising and event data
  • Experience using E1 or Oracle in an American Heart Association business or fundraising environment
  • Experience using Tableau to review dashboards/reports, monitor data, research discrepancies, or validate correction results
  • Experience preparing structured files for bulk data updates, reviewing correction results, or supporting system testing and data validation

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates data quality intake and initial investigation by receiving concerns from business users, gathering examples, reviewing affected records, documenting the business impact, and determining whether the issue can be addressed through an established correction process or requires escalation.
  • Executes approved data quality corrections by updating individual records, preparing and reviewing files for bulk updates, validating results after processing, and documenting completed changes in accordance with established approval, data-handling, and quality-control procedures.
  • Monitors and documents data quality concerns by reviewing established reports, dashboards, exception lists, and issue logs; identifying recurring issues or trends; maintaining records of corrections and validation results; and escalating complex or systemic findings for further investigation.
  • Supports data quality prevention and process improvement by maintaining procedures, job aids, knowledge articles, and user communications and by partnering with Reporting, BT, Training, and business stakeholders to document improvements that reduce recurring data quality issues.
  • Coordinates cross-functional resolution of data quality issues by routing concerns to the appropriate Reporting, Business Technology, Training, or business partner and tracking ownership, decisions, action items, due dates, status, and resolution.
