Data Privacy and AI Associate
About The Position
Barnes & Thornburg LLP is searching for a Data Privacy and AI Associate. The Associate will ideally have 1-3 years of relevant data privacy experience, and will work with a wide range of clients to analyze and mitigate risks related to the collection, storage, distribution and use of data. The Associate will focus on privacy counseling and guidance, review and drafting of data retention policies, data privacy and data processing agreements, incident response plans, incident reports and breach notifications, and will also assist with data breach response matters. They will also handle artificial intelligence (AI) matters and will keep current with state and federal privacy /AI laws and cybersecurity regulations.
Requirements
- At least one year of data privacy, data protection and/or data security experience
- Demonstrated interest in the field, including CIPP certification
- Solid academic record
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic
- Show initiative
- Active and admitted to the local state bar or eligible to waive in
Nice To Haves
- Some AI experience
- Some experience with incident response and data breach matters
