Data Platform Support Specialist supports and maintains enterprise data platforms, legacy ETL processes, and database operations. This role will focus on troubleshooting and resolving issues related to legacy SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, stored procedures, scheduled jobs, and data workflows while assisting with the administration and support of modern cloud-based data environments in Databricks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting SQL Server environments
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server administration concepts
  • Experience troubleshooting T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Agent jobs
  • Familiarity with SSIS package support and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and data warehousing principles
  • Exposure to Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or cloud-based data platforms
  • Experience writing and debugging SQL queries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure cloud services
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization
  • Understanding of ETL workflows and batch processing
  • Exposure to source control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or scripting for automation tasks
  • Experience working in healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries
  • Microsoft Azure or SQL Server certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server databases and related services
  • Monitor and resolve issues involving legacy SSIS packages, SQL Agent jobs, and stored procedures
  • Investigate data load failures, performance bottlenecks, and ETL processing issues
  • Assist with administration and support of Databricks environments and data pipelines
  • Execute database maintenance tasks including backups, restores, indexing, and integrity checks
  • Review and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for performance and reliability
  • Support production deployments, releases, and migration activities
  • Document troubleshooting procedures, operational processes, and system configurations
  • Work with development and business teams to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes
  • Monitor database health, storage utilization, and job execution status
  • Participate in on-call support rotations or after-hours maintenance activities as needed
  • Assist with security management, permissions, and access control for SQL Server and Databricks resources
