About The Position
We are seeking a technically skilled Data Modeling Analyst to support our reporting and analytics platform within a Microsoft Fabric environment. This role is ideal for an individual with strong business intelligence and data analysis experience, particularly in SQL, with working knowledge of Python and Spark. In the near term, this position will focus on developing and maintaining BI reporting solutions using an existing Microsoft Fabric semantic model. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into meaningful dashboards, reports, and analytical insights that support operational and strategic decision-making. Over time, this role will expand to include broader data modeling and platform responsibilities, supporting the development and optimization of enterprise data models, pipelines, and analytical solutions that improve the scalability, performance, and governance of our data ecosystem. This position offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact through BI reporting while growing into a broader role supporting enterprise data modeling, analytics, and Microsoft Fabric platform development.
Requirements
- Strong SQL development and data analysis skills.
- Understanding of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT, and medallion architecture concepts
- Experience developing reports and dashboards in Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric semantic models and modern analytics platforms.
- Working knowledge of Python and Spark.
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a multi-tiered organization.
- 2 years of professional experience in a development/data-related role
Nice To Haves
- MS Report Builder experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Report Builder (Paginated Reports) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Leverage existing semantic models to deliver scalable and consistent reporting solutions.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Validate data accuracy and support data quality initiatives.
- Assist with the design and optimization of data models and reporting structures.
- Support future development of Python- and Spark-based data solutions and pipelines.
- Contribute to enterprise data and analytics initiatives as the platform matures.
