The Boeing Company is seeking a Data Migration Architect (Senior or Lead) to join our team in Hazelwood, MO; Arlington, VA; Long Beach, CA; North Charleston, SC, and Seattle, WA. The Data Migration Architect will design and own canonical data models, data migration architecture, mapping standards, reconciliation/lineage frameworks and automation for enterprise data migrations involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Data Management (PDM), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM). The role combines hands‑on technical delivery with governance: leading mapping libraries, staging/change data capture (CDC), Application Programming Interface (API) patterns, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) for migration artifacts, and performance engineering for large binaries. This is a strategic role that ensures repeatable, auditable and high‑performance migrations across domain systems.

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise data strategy and infrastructure, including data architecture and governance
  • 5+ years of experience enterprise architecture experience, including but not limited to cloud architecture, security, data privacy, integration, and deployment
  • 5+ years of experience enterprise architecture experience, including but not limited to cloud architecture, security, data privacy, integration, and deployment
  • 5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as ACL, SQL Developer, Oracle, XML, MySQL, Python
  • 5+ years of experience delivering architecture & design solutions supporting data security
  • Experience navigating engineering document management system, or similar PDM (Product Data Management) system, like Windchill™
  • Experience with audit frameworks and compliance standards
  • Experience with CI/CD and configuration management with release processes
  • Experience applying engineering principles to solve advanced design, assembly, performance, and testing problems
  • Experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams, involving key stakeholder relationship management

  • 10 or more years of higher education and/or related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree or certifications in data architecture, cloud architecture, or related fields
  • Experience in aerospace, defense or other regulated industries with strict audit/traceability requirements
  • Experience with data migration tools and ability to assess connectors.
  • Experience with PDM (Teamcenter) and MOM (Opcenter) migration projects specifically
  • Experience with data cataloging and metadata management tools
  • Experience with cloud/on‑prem hybrid architectures for migration infrastructure
  • Experience with translating business rules into robust technical transformations
  • Knowledge of export control implications for engineering data and practices for masking or segmented data access
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the canonical data model(s) and mapping governance across ERP, PDM and MOM domains
  • Design migration architecture: landing/staging zones, bulk vs CDC patterns, APIs, message flows, and storage strategy for large binaries
  • Create and maintain the mapping registry, reusable transformation modules, naming/versioning conventions and survivorship rules
  • Specify reconciliation, lineage and audit frameworks (checksums, object‑level logs, immutable traces) and embed them into migration pipelines
  • Lead CI/CD and automation strategy for migration artifacts: test harnesses, deployment pipelines, orchestration and rollback processes
  • Collaborate with domain leads and technical leaders to validate ERP, PDM, MOM connector behavior, performance characteristics and failure modes; drive acceptance criteria
  • Implement data security controls in migration pipelines: encryption, masking for non‑prod, access controls and privileged access patterns
  • Performance migration flows: sizing, throughput tuning, batching strategies, and large‑file transfer optimization
  • Produce architecture diagrams, deployment artifacts and documentation.
  • Enforce standardization and reuse across data migration waves
