About The Position

Find your purpose as a Data Management Assistant with CentraCare! As a Data Management Assistant you are responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate health record while ensuring the integrity of the enterprise wide health record. Uses standard procedures to make decisions on straightforward problems and issues. Supports privacy, confidentiality, and implements patient safety practices as appropriate. Requires working knowledge of data management, including document scanning, indexing, data entry and abstraction of data. Maintains a regulatory/compliance environment by following organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies as well as state, local and federal standards and regulations. Applies critical thinking skills in routine daily work with the ability to multi-task. Requires effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people and departments enterprise wide. Performs in a fast paced, constantly changing and production-driven environment with a focus on quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Medical Information experience
  • 1 year experience working with electronic health records
  • Completion of medical terminology course
  • Experience working with electronic health records
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Knowledge of overall Health Information procedures
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to troubleshoot when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) accreditation
  • Completion of a Health Information Technology program
