About The Position

We specialize in providing high-volume contingent staffing, direct hire staffing and project-based solutions to companies worldwide ranging from startups to Fortune 500 and Managed Service Providers (MSP) across a wide variety of industries. The DLP & Microsoft Purview Specialist will be responsible for protecting sensitive data across environment by designing, implementing, and managing data classification, labeling, monitoring, and protection controls. This role will work closely with security, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Microsoft Purview implementation
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance ecosystem
Experience with data classification, labeling, and retention policies
Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)
Experience handling DLP incident response and investigations
Knowledge of cloud security and SaaS environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft SC-400, SC-900, CISSP)

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across endpoints, cloud services, and email systems
Administer and configure Microsoft Purview (Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, Insider Risk, eDiscovery)
Develop and enforce data classification and labeling strategies (sensitivity labels, retention policies)
Monitor and respond to DLP alerts and incidents, including investigation and remediation
Integrate DLP controls across Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
Conduct data discovery and mapping to identify sensitive data across the environment
Support compliance initiatives (e.g., TSA, FAA, FBI, and Etc.)
Provide reporting and dashboards on data protection posture and DLP effectiveness
Collaborate with security and IT teams to align DLP with Zero Trust architecture
Conduct user awareness and training related to data protection policies
Perform policy tuning and optimization to minimize false positives/negatives
Support audit readiness and regulatory assessments
Document configurations, procedures, and governance processes
