About The Position

The Data Layer Engineer supports mission-critical objectives by designing, implementing, and optimizing data transformation workflows for geospatial and non-geospatial datasets. This role manages ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management with expertise in ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services. The position requires working with ESRI geospatial data layers, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud-based geospatial services. Engineers will implement data governance frameworks and metadata/data cataloging solutions. The role includes ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field; or A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.
  • Demonstrated experience managing ESRI geospatial data layers and Kubernetes-hosted geospatial applications.
  • Expertise in ETL processes, data structuring, and schema management.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in cloud storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
  • Strong understanding of Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, and Azure Purview.
  • Ability to manage ESRI geospatial data layers and cloud-based geospatial services.
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance is required for on-site duty location.
