The Financial Times is seeking passionate and motivated students for a Data Journalism Summer Internship. This program offers the opportunity to connect and collaborate across the FT, develop ideas that drive growth, present work to US leadership, and gain valuable insights. Interns will be paired with a dedicated Buddy for mentorship and support. The internship pays $22 per hour for 40 hours per week and runs from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US and available for the entire internship period. The role involves working closely with the FT’s US data journalism team, a small, interdisciplinary group focused on data visualization, data analysis, news writing, enterprise stories, narrative features, interactive features, and visual stories, all driven by a keen interest in the quantitative and empirical. The team enhances existing reporting with analysis and visualization, and also pitches and produces original work. Candidates should have a proven interest in data journalism and some experience with data and data graphics.
