Principal or Sr Principal Data Insight Analyst (Tableau)

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is looking for a Principal or Sr Principal Data Insight Analyst to join the DEE IPT to oversee Tableau development for the program. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL, and is 100% on-site. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, allowing employees to take every other Friday off.
Requirements
- For Principal (level 3): Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or a related field with minimum of 5 years of experience (or Master’s degree with minimum of 3 years)
- For Sr Principal (level 4): Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or a related field with minimum of 8 years of experience (or Master’s degree with minimum of 6 years)
- Expert-level proficiency in leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Strong SQL skills for efficient data extraction and integration across diverse datasets
- Demonstrated ability to convert complex business challenges into data-driven insights
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

- Experience with cloud-based data platforms or enterprise data warehouses (e.g., Databricks, Palantir, or Denodo)
- Exposure to advanced analytics frameworks and business intelligence best practices
- Proven record in developing and implementing reporting best practices and data governance strategies
- Proficiency in complementary reporting tools or programming languages (Python, R) to extend dashboard functionality
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
- Experience in executive-level communication and strategic advisory roles for data-driven innovations
- US Government active Top Secret Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of comprehensive dashboards and reporting solutions that integrate multiple data sources
- Perform advanced data extraction using SQL combined with robust analysis in Excel and visualization using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable, visually engaging insights
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports
- Mentor junior analysts on best practices for data extraction, analysis, and visualization
