About The Position

The Data Governance & Reporting Analyst role will support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise data standards, policies, and controls. This position will help ensure organizational data is accurate, consistent, secure, well-documented, and appropriately governed across systems and business functions. The role will partner with business and technical teams to improve data quality, clarify ownership, maintain governance documentation, and support responsible data use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience with data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata, and data catalogs.
  • Experience establishing and monitoring data quality rules, controls, metrics, and remediation processes.
  • Knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, classification, lineage, retention, and access-control concepts.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data analysis or reporting tools.
  • Experience with data governance, cataloging, or metadata-management platforms preferred.
  • Working knowledge of privacy, security, and regulatory requirements related to organizational data.
  • Experience documenting data standards, procedures, definitions, and governance processes.
  • Experience supporting governance councils, data stewards, system owners, and cross-functional data initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data-quality issues and coordinate remediation with technical and business teams.
  • Experience maintaining governance documentation and tracking data-related issues through resolution.
  • Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders on data management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data quality monitoring, metadata management, and governance reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Help draft, maintain, and socialize data governance policies (data quality rules, classification standards, naming conventions, retention schedules).
  • Run regular data quality checks across key systems; investigate root causes and track remediation to closure.
  • Maintain and grow the data catalog (metadata, business definitions, lineage documentation) so people can find and trust the data they need.
  • Identify and document data owners and stewards across business units; keep the ownership map current as teams and systems change.
  • Support compliance-related governance work (privacy, retention, access reviews) in partnership with Legal/Compliance
  • Participate in access control and data classification reviews, flagging risk areas to the governance lead.
  • Track and report governance KPIs (data quality scores, policy adoption, open remediation items) to leadership.
  • Build lightweight training materials and office hours so business teams understand and adopt governance policies.
  • Help evaluate and administer governance tooling (catalog, lineage, or quality platforms) as the program matures.
