About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data governance frameworks, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality, with the ability to drive enterprise-level governance initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Data Governance (Design, Development, Implementation)
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
• Hands-on experience with data lineage, metadata management, and data quality
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis
• Experience with tools such as Tableau, JIRA
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives

Responsibilities

• Assess current data lineage, metadata, and data quality practices
• Perform attribute-level data lineage analysis
• Identify gaps in lineage coverage and automation
• Analyze and profile data quality issues (accuracy, completeness, consistency)
• Define and implement data quality (DQ) rules, KPIs, and monitoring frameworks
• Recommend and implement metadata and data catalog strategies
• Define standards for data lineage, data glossary, and data quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure governance alignment
• Support governance initiatives in line with regulatory and enterprise standards
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and follow SDLC best practices
