About The Position

The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust data governance framework. This role involves defining policies, standards, and processes to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organization. The lead will work collaboratively with various departments to implement data governance initiatives and promote a data-driven culture.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
Strong understanding of data quality, data security, and data privacy principles.
Knowledge of data governance tools and technologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience with data cataloging and metadata management tools.
Certifications in data management or governance (e.g., CDMP).
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Establish and manage a data governance council or committee.
Define and monitor data quality metrics and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Oversee data stewardship activities and provide guidance to data stewards.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry best practices.
Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to implement data governance solutions.
Promote data literacy and awareness across the organization.
Manage data catalog and business glossary.
Identify and mitigate data-related risks.
