About The Position

Allied Consultants, Inc is a proudly Austin based firm with over 34 years of experience delivering top-tier technical and business professionals within Texas State Agencies. We are currently seeking an experience Data Governance Engineer to play a key role within a high-impact technical services team. The contractor will support Data Engineering and Data Governance work in SHARP. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days onsite (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and 2 days Remote – Mondays and Wednesdays. Candidates must be local to Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience using Informatica tools including Powercenter, IICS, IDMC, MDM, Axon, EDC, IDQ, Customer360, Supplier360, Entity360.
  • 10 years of experience establishing Master Data and Reference data for large organizations.
  • 10 years of experience implementing data quality rules using Informatica DQ.
  • 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Informatica MDM is preferred.
  • 4 years of experience working with enterprise scale data sets in Snowflake.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field. Equivalent work experience can be substituted. Masters degree or 6+ years experience preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare or Public Health preferred.
  • 2 years of experience at a state agency preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with Python scripts for automation and interaction with APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system.
  • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.
  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.
  • Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
