About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing management of enterprise data governance practices. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, working knowledge of SQL and Power BI, and a solid understanding of data governance principles, data access management, and audit readiness. Experience with E21 (or similar platforms) is considered an asset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data analysis roles
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL (data querying, profiling, validation)
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI (dashboard development, reporting, visualization)
  • Understanding of core data governance concepts, including: Data quality management, Metadata management, Data stewardship, Data lineage, Data access controls and security
  • Experience with data access management concepts (e.g., RBAC, least privilege)
  • Familiarity with audit processes, controls, and compliance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with E21 or similar data governance / enterprise data platforms is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation is a plus
  • Experience in financial services or insurance industry
  • Exposure to data quality tools or governance frameworks
  • Basic knowledge of ETL processes and data pipelines
  • Experience supporting audit, risk, or compliance functions

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the organization’s data governance framework, policies, and standards
  • Partner with business and technical teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
  • Assist in defining and maintaining data definitions, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories
  • Perform data analysis using SQL to assess data quality issues, trends, and discrepancies
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor data quality metrics, governance KPIs, and access controls
  • Support data access management processes, including: Role-based access control (RBAC), Access reviews and certifications, Ensuring appropriate data access provisioning and de-provisioning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements
  • Identify, document, and track data-related issues, and support remediation efforts
  • Support data lineage documentation and mapping exercises
  • Contribute to audit readiness activities, including: Maintaining documentation for data controls, Supporting internal audits, Ensuring traceability and evidence for data governance practices
  • Collaborate with data stewards and stakeholders to promote data governance best practices
  • Participate in governance forums, working groups, and regulatory initiatives as required
