About The Position

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and advancement of an enterprise Data Governance Program. The analyst will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineers, Project Teams, and Information Security to establish trusted, governed enterprise data that supports both operational and analytical use cases. This role will focus on governance activities for enterprise data ingested into an AWS-based data platform and consumed through Snowflake. The successful candidate will help establish governance processes, metadata standards, business rules, data quality standards, data lineage, and stewardship practices while supporting the organization's growing enterprise data platform.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Business Analysis, Metadata Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting enterprise Data Governance programs.
  • Experience facilitating data governance workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Experience documenting metadata, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and governance artifacts.
  • Experience defining business rules and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Experience performing data profiling, reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and ongoing maturity of the Enterprise Data Governance Program.
  • Facilitate data governance workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Support onboarding of new applications and data sources into the governance program.
  • Partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to establish governance for new enterprise datasets.
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Translate business requirements into practical governance processes and artifacts.
  • Capture and maintain business metadata and technical metadata.
  • Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
  • Define and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Map business metadata to corresponding technical metadata.
  • Support metadata ingestion and maintenance within enterprise data catalog or metadata management platforms.
  • Define business-oriented data quality rules and standards.
  • Perform and support data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Monitor data quality metrics, trends, and exceptions.
  • Work with Data Stewards and technical teams to identify data quality issues and support remediation planning.
  • Perform cross-system reconciliation and validation of enterprise data.
  • Document business and technical data lineage.
  • Document end-to-end data flows across source and target systems.
  • Assist with impact analysis for new data sources, systems, and data changes.
  • Support governance activities across Bronze, Silver, Gold, Operational Data Store (ODS), and Analytical Data Store (ADS) layers.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Data Engineering teams to ensure governance requirements are incorporated into data architecture.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers supporting Python-based AWS data pipelines.
  • Support governance of enterprise datasets published to Snowflake.
  • Assist with proof-of-concept initiatives that consolidate data from multiple source systems into governed enterprise data assets.
  • Support Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), data classification, retention, and internal data-sharing processes.
  • Help ensure enterprise data is appropriately governed for operational, analytical, and emerging AI use cases.
  • Develop governance dashboards, metrics, and performance reports.
  • Prepare executive presentations and data governance reports.
  • Present findings and recommendations to governance committees, project teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate governance requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
