About The Position

This role focuses on high-volume data entry and email-based customer support in a structured, process-driven environment. The data entry clerk manages a shared email inbox, supports different customers by email, and ensures accurate entry of alphanumeric data, including large catalogs of products and part numbers. Success in this position requires strong organization, excellent written communication, a quick learning ability, and the capacity to work calmly and professionally with challenging situations and complex scheduling needs.

Requirements

  • Proven data entry experience with strong alphanumeric accuracy and speed.
  • Experience providing customer service or customer support, preferably in a call center or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including entering and managing data in spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and broader Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with an ERP system for data entry and information management.
  • Strong written communication skills, especially in email, with the ability to respond clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and apply them consistently in daily work.
  • Strong organizational skills, including managing multiple email requests and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle difficult people and challenging scheduling situations calmly and professionally.
  • High level of attention to detail, especially with numbers, addresses, and product or part information.
  • Strong recall and memory for product information, part numbers, and process steps.
  • Articulate communication style, with the ability to explain information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

  • Enter high volumes of alphanumeric data accurately and efficiently into internal systems, including detailed product and part number information.
  • Manage and respond to emails in a shared inbox, ensuring timely, professional, and clear communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Organize and prioritize email requests from multiple customers, maintaining an orderly workflow and ensuring no inquiries are overlooked.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools to update records, track information, and support daily administrative tasks.
  • Work within an ERP system to enter, update, and retrieve customer, order, and product information in accordance with established processes.
  • Provide customer service and support via email and inbound calls, addressing questions, resolving issues, and coordinating scheduling as needed.
  • Handle difficult customer interactions and complex scheduling requests with patience, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Follow established procedures while learning and applying new processes quickly, adapting to changes in workflow or requirements.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, documentation, and general office assistance to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Pay close attention to details such as numbers, addresses, and product identifiers to minimize errors and maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with a small, analytical team, contributing to a focused work environment while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, arriving on time and completing full shifts consistently to support team and customer needs.
