About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our Human Resources team for a 6.5-month contract in Brooklyn, NY. This position provides administrative and data management support to Human Resources Services (HRS), ensuring personnel records and transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong data entry skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive personnel information.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with CUNYfirst or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting Human Resources or higher education administrative functions.
  • Familiarity with personnel transactions, contract processing, appointment letters, and employment documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic departments and administrative staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate data entry and verification of employee and personnel information.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records to support Human Resources operations.
  • Track and monitor personnel records, ensuring information is current and complete.
  • Process employee reappointments and prepare appointment letters.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and tracking systems to monitor personnel actions and deadlines.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Time and Leave reports.
  • Generate notification letters and other routine Human Resources correspondence.
  • Support the review of contracts and personnel transactions to ensure accurate entry into CUNYfirst.
  • Coordinate with academic departments and programs regarding personnel documentation and processing requirements.
  • Organize and maintain personnel files and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor deadlines and assist with routine follow-up for adjunct faculty, College Assistant, and classified staff personnel actions.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee information.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Services (HRS) team as assigned.
