About The Position

This role involves performing data entry for billing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. The Data Entry Clerk will research, obtain, and enter missing information and demographics for accessions. They will demonstrate competency in eligibility, billing, and receivable systems, and educate external customers on providing complete billing information. The position requires making outbound calls and answering inbound calls to gather information or resolve issues, as well as responding to written correspondence. The clerk will handle sensitive client and patient interactions, maintain accurate documentation, and generate reports. This role also involves identifying and reporting problems, errors, and denial trends to management. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, while meeting performance goals for efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient/client satisfaction, and attendance, is crucial. Other duties and cross-functional training may be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of recent work experience in high volume data entry (preferably medical field)
  • Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity per department standards.
  • 1+ years of working experience with Microsoft Tools including Microsoft Word (creating memos, writing), Microsoft Outlook (setting calendar appointments, email) and Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets, filtering, navigating reports)
  • Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications including instant messaging and video conferencing.
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is free from distractions and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
  • Ability to use remote meeting/learning applications including instant messaging and video conferencing.
  • Maintain compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Typing speed of at least 50+ WPM
  • Ability to use 10 Key.
  • Ability to adapt to changes & Other duties and tasks as required/cross functional training.

Responsibilities

  • Research, obtain and enter missing information/demographics for completion of accessions.
  • Conduct data entry for completion of accessions.
  • Demonstrate competency in eligibility, billing and receivable systems and associated applications.
  • Educate external customers on how to provide complete billing information and avoid additional contacts for information.
  • Inform customers of billing problems/issue findings and resolutions as appropriate.
  • Make outbound calls to clients, patients, carriers and/or any internal or external source as needed to obtain missing or additional information.
  • Answer inbound calls from clients, patients, carriers and/or any internal or external source as needed to answer account inquiries or resolve issues.
  • Respond to account inquiries through written correspondences if unable to resolve via phone.
  • Handle sensitive client and patient interactions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation for all appropriate transactions.
  • Generate and/or distribute reports and documentation to internal or external client to obtain missing information.
  • Report problems, errors, and denial trends to management including PHI breaches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meet the performance goals established for the position in the areas of efficiency, accuracy, quality, patient and client satisfaction and attendance.
