About The Position

As a Data Engineering Intern on our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team, you will play a key role in supporting the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision-making at QuadReal. Working as part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) function, you’ll help build, operate, and enhance a modern, reliable data platform—ensuring that business users across the company can access high-quality, trusted data when they need it most. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, open-source data tools, and platform automation—while collaborating with professionals across Data Engineering, Analytics, and Governance.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program, preferably in Engineering, Science, Technology or Mathematics.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and working with complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data engineering principles (e.g. Warehousing, ETL/ELT).
  • The ability to problem-solve while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and project outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS, or GCP), dbt, data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), and CI/CD practices is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Help build and operate our next generation cloud data platform in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and manage data pipelines using tools like dltHub and Airflow.
  • Automate core platform processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of data quality and compliance frameworks.
  • Develop dashboards to monitor platform observability, including health, data quality and other performance metrics.
  • Collaborate across teams to promote enterprise data governance and standardization.
