About The Position
The Data Engineer migrates customer data from legacy software applications, databases, reports, and other file structures into the client’s new Edmunds GovTech ERP system. The role regularly engages with customers and contributes to project teams by developing data conversion templates and tools using Java, Python, SQL, and other programming languages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another degree that provides the skills needed to develop programs, or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in professional services, client implementation, and/or data migrations.
- Working knowledge and ability in programming with Java, Python, SQL, and related technologies.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of multiple system/database platforms, such as MSSQL, Oracle, AS400, and Windows.
- Knowledge of generalized business practices, accounting reports, financial reports, and payroll reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop data conversion programs using Java and related technologies.
- Work with internal team members to map clients’ legacy source data.
- Validate that data conversions meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Use a variety of tools and programs to facilitate the data conversion process.
- Work on multiple project teams and handle competing priorities effectively.
- Deliver high-quality customer service.
