About The Position

Kwik Trip is expanding its Data Engineering team and seeks a Data Engineer II to build scalable data infrastructure and turn raw data into actionable insights. The role develops and maintains data pipelines and architectures, supports real-time integrations, and helps address complex data challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position is based onsite at the La Crosse Support Center and follows standard business hours, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational and big data databases.
• Proficiency in Python and Spark-based data engineering.
• Experience with ELT/ETL tools such as SSIS, ADF, and Apache Spark Delta Live Tables.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, Terraform, and stream processing technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with natural language processing or statistical modeling.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and source control best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
• Develop real-time integrations and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues.
• Evaluate and implement emerging data technologies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
• Analyze data for trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Support data transformation, metadata management, and workload orchestration.
