About The Position

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines that support business insights and decision-making. This role requires expertise in data integration, modeling, and governance to ensure data quality and accessibility across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into effective data solutions, leveraging advanced programming and cloud technologies. Your contributions will drive data strategy execution, enabling the organization to unlock the full value of its data assets while adhering to regulatory and ethical standards. Our Data Engineering team delivers enterprise-wide impact through Ops Portal, supporting over 1.2 million users, including frontline associates and leadership. We develop data pipelines that drive key performance indicators across critical business areas such as Finance, Workforce, Fashion, Walmart+, Fresh, Supply Chain, and Sam’s Club. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in data engineering, including data integration, modeling, and pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in cloud and big data platforms, including data warehousing and scalable architectures.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Skilled in designing logical and physical data models using industry-standard tools.
  • Proven capability to develop, test, and deploy data solutions with attention to performance and reliability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and maintaining data security and privacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
  • OR Master's degree in Computer Science and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.

  • Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years' experience in software engineering
  • Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Implement and uphold data governance standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical policies.
  • Write, test, and deploy efficient code using SQL and other programming languages to support data processing.
  • Monitor and improve data systems, applying best practices in data management and cloud technologies.
