About The Position

Ignite Digital Services is hiring a Data Engineer to independently build and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure in support of a large federal enterprise multi-domain data ecosystem. You will operate with autonomy, drive innovation, and contribute to mission-critical data solutions, while delivering within a larger team project management environment.

Requirements

Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and PySpark.
Experience with cloud-based ETL services (e.g. AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Data Factory).
Familiarity with Databricks, Palantir, Snowflake, and data warehousing technologies.
Strong understanding of data orchestration and quality processes.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
3+ years relevant professional experience.
U.S. Citizen, Secret or TS/SCI eligible.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Hadoop/Spark, NiFi, ELK stack or comparable technologies.
Data engineering certification (e.g. Azure, Google, IBM, Palantir).
Experience working with federal clients.
Intermediate certifications (Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP); or advanced certifications (SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, CISSP).

Responsibilities

Independently design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and core infrastructure.
Develop efficient data processing and transformation workflows.
Create and maintain data models, schemas and transformation logic to support analytics requirements.
Integrate diverse data sources (APIs, databases, cloud storage) into unified datasets.
Implement robust validation, monitoring, and observability processes.
Contribute to data governance, security, and automation initiatives.
Leverage AWS, Databricks, and related technologies for cloud-native solutions.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security teams.
