Ingénieur(e) Data

BEEMMontreal, QC
Hybrid

About The Position

We're in a strong growth phase, driven by real client demand and growing our team of data and AI experts. We're looking for someone who is deeply technical, thinks in systems and wants to make technical decisions that have lasting impact. This role goes beyond connector development: you'll design pipeline architecture, define our data modeling standards, orchestrate data flows and evolve the BEEM platform to keep up as we scale. You'll work closely with our ADS consulting team to validate architectural decisions during client mandates and contribute to product evolution. This isn't a day-to-day client-facing role: the priority is the robustness and long-term quality of what we build. This role is posted as Data Engineer, with the internal title of Data Specialist, Architecture track. Permanent full time hybrid position, minimum 2 days per week in the office. This role is for you if you have significant experience in data engineering, you have opinions on how good data architecture should be built, and you want real influence over the technical direction of a growing scale-up.

Requirements

  • Proven, significant experience in data engineering
  • Strong Python and advanced SQL skills
  • Solid experience with AWS and its data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with dbt for layered data modeling
  • Experience with an orchestration tool (Airflow, Step Functions, Prefect or equivalent)
  • Comfortable with Git, code review and rigorous technical standards
  • Bilingual FR/EN communication

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a consulting firm or in a multi-client environment
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools
  • Experience with lakehouse or data mesh architectures
  • Interest in applied generative AI (RAG, MCP, agents)
  • Experience implementing DataOps or data observability practices
  • You enjoy sharing knowledge and genuinely care about growing the people around you

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve the architecture of our data pipelines (ELT/ETL) on AWS
  • Define and maintain our data modeling standards using dbt (raw, staging, marts layers)
  • Orchestrate data flows and ensure their reliability and observability in production
  • Make and document architectural decisions on AWS infrastructure (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Step Functions)
  • Collaborate with ADS consultants to validate technical decisions during client mandates
  • Contribute to BEEM product evolution: propose improvements, evaluate new technologies, lay technical foundations for new features
  • Help level up the team on architecture topics and best practices
