About The Position

The Data Engineer and Reporting Specialist executes and updates reporting processes to reflect ongoing development and collection of N Street Village program data. They work with the Director of Evaluation and Learning to improve internal practices and provide accurate client and program outcomes reporting. They also maintain and support data infrastructure, operating as an administrator for agency and internal databases. The Data Engineer and Reporting Specialist is a key position in training, motivating, and encouraging frontline staff to enter complete, accurate, and timely data under the direction of the Director of Evaluation and Learning.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Two or more years’ experience in quantitative data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks, individually and in a team, to reflect changing program needs
Advanced facility in Microsoft 365, in particular Microsoft Excel, and database management including pivot tables, excel formulas, graphs, charts and dashboards
Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate teams to complete quality data entry
Superior ability to translate technical data and analysis into understandable, actionable language for program staff
Strong cultural competence and trauma-informed practices, including ability to communicate with a diverse population
Extremely detail-oriented and analytical
Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality

Master’s degree preferred
Experience with, or capacity to learn, new data systems, visualization techniques and software

Responsibilities

Monitor client data entered by program staff to ensure complete, accurate, and timely entry
Collaborate with program managers to ensure all required service delivery is documented for contract compliance and agency performance measurement, identifying areas for continuous improvement
Serve as an administrator of agency and internal databases
Support internal data infrastructure and reporting processes
Deliver high-quality service to stakeholders through ad-hoc and recurring data requests, providing well-visualized and accurate data
Conduct data analysis, validation, scrubbing, collection, and reporting
Submit data and reports as required by government contracts
Generate and analyze data and develop visualization tools for reporting on program inputs and outcomes
Generate, evaluate, and improve program reports to ensure continuous data quality assurance and improvement of outcomes measures
Deliver standard orientation for staff members on client database(s) and provide on-going training and troubleshooting support to system users
Respond to internal and external requests for data in collaboration with the Director of Evaluation and Learning
Participate in cross-team meetings, all-staff meetings, regular supervision meetings, and trainings as required by the Director and contracts
