Requirements

Must be a Utah State University student pursuing a degree in data engineering, data analytics, information systems, or a related field with a minimum of 1 year remaining in school
Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summers
Basic understanding of software development concepts, including scripting skills
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Must be U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person

Responsibilities

Assists with cleaning, transforming, and validating raw data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for analysis or storage
Supports the development, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines and processes to ensure successful task completion
Builds data models in our data warehouse using dbt
Builds dashboards in Power BI to support business intelligence
Creates and maintains documentation for data processes, solutions, and issues, improving team knowledge-sharing and transparency
Collaborates with data engineers and analysts on ongoing projects, actively participating in team meetings and contributing to assigned tasks
Supports testing, debugging, and issue resolution for data processes and scripts, documenting problems, and applying fixes
Proactively engages in learning new tools, technologies, and data engineering concepts to develop technical skills and contribute effectively
