About The Position

Join our Global Data and Compliance team! How will you contribute: Collaborating with the Director of Metrics and Analytics Shared Service; You will be a part of a team passionate about achieving results, championing the team’s goals and embracing the enterprise’s values and objectives. This role contributes to the development and maturation of metric automation and data analytic efforts for Global Compliance; influence how data is captured, visualized and analyzed for teams all across Global Compliance. This role will have multi-functional responsibilities that include interacting with a range of collaborators, from fellow team members to business unit partners to leaders both within the function and in other functions such as Law, Government Relations, Finance, Technology, Strategy and Risk. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, rapidly maturing team with a growth mindset. This is a hybrid position with three days in office per week, preferably at the Waterloo, ON, Canada location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering; or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s degree in relevant field or 1-3 years of progressive analytics and technology architecture experience with expertise including cloud-based technologies (Azure, Synapse), big data, data lakes, master data management, advanced data analytics for data gathering, storing and retrieval methods on various data platforms, both structured and unstructured.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical tests, distributions, maximum likelihood estimators, statistical modelling techniques (regression, cluster / factor / principal components, decision tree, survival analysis, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of different techniques and knowledge of machine learning algorithms.
  • Knowledge of AI toolkits, how to create AI Agents.
  • Expert in data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Capability of applying a systematic, structured approach to explore / navigate / mine substantial amount of data, structured or un-structured, to uncover hidden patterns / insights.
  • Comfort working in a complex data environment with a wide variety of systems and numerous internal organizations.
  • Outstanding analytic and problem-solving skills, using data and information to highlight key themes and make recommendations for a senior executive audience

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update relevant dashboards and other data analytic tools and technologies that support partner efficiency, reporting, analysis and risk informed decision-making.
  • Proactively enhance data analytic and general technology and technological skills within the Compliance teams
  • Independently identify, analyze and define material, unmet business needs, issues, trends and opportunities within the Compliance function and recommend potential data analytic or other technology solutions.
  • Actively participate in projects and initiatives.
  • Partner, coordinate and collaborate with team members, partners and leaders within the LCG function and in other functions like Finance, Technology, Strategy and Risk.
  • Assist in identifying, planning and implementing change and/or continuous improvement opportunities and associated dependencies and/or roadblocks, with recommended options for addressing them.
  • Find opportunities to use AI in achieving function’s goals and objectives.
