About The Position

AdNet/AccountNet, Inc. is seeking Data Collectors for the 2026 New Jersey Youth Tobacco Survey (NJYTS) in Northern New Jersey. This temporary position, running from October to December 2026, involves administering a web survey to students in grades 9-12 about tobacco use. The survey is sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and Rutgers University and will be conducted in up to 50 public high schools. The results will help monitor trends, evaluate prevention efforts, and improve school health policies. Data Collectors will serve as on-site administrators in selected classes and schools. This role requires up to 4 days of work per week for approximately 6-8 weeks, with assignments known at least 5 days in advance. Full-time availability, Monday-Friday, is expected during the survey period.

Requirements

  • Access to internet to enter daily school participation rates and receive assignments.
  • Personal email and cell phone to communicate with supervisor.
  • Cell phone to call assigned schools in preparation for survey administration.
  • Ability to pass a background screening.
  • Successful completion of a mandatory 2-day in-person training.
  • A vehicle in good working condition.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Basic level of technological literacy.
  • Ability to lift and carry survey supplies up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in field data collection/survey research.
  • Experience working with adolescents and teens, particularly in a school setting.
  • Experience in working with the public and leading a task.
  • Experience in working off-site with little face-to-face contact with supervisor.
  • Experience using a computer/tablet, including navigating the internet, using web applications, emailing, and attaching files.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the web survey to students in selected classes and schools.

  • Drive to assigned schools using a personal vehicle.
