Data Center Technician (Level 1 / 2)
About The Position
This role involves layer one data center work, including racking, cabling, and power for IT equipment. It also includes telecom facility and equipment support, as well as managing data center HVAC, cooling, chilled water, and CRAC units. The position requires daily work with redundant power infrastructure and oversight of IT material supplies such as cables, SFPs, and power supplies. Daily operations duties support production IT systems, including performing walk-through checks, reporting issues, submitting incident tickets and service requests, and monitoring the environmental status of production data centers. The role also involves working with printing and mailing systems for payroll and tax forms, performing backup and restore operations, assisting with business continuity planning, training, and exercises, and utilizing common IT systems like DCIM, ServiceNow ticketing, change management, and incident tracking.
Requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain a Q clearance
- Hands on Data Center layer one experience
- Cabling and supporting IT and Telecom systems
- Ability to handle large printing tasks
- Experience with work tracking, ticketing, incidents, change management, etc. systems
- Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems

- Working with printing and mailing systems for payroll, tax forms, etc.
- Backup and restore systems to restore lost or corrupt files as needed
- Work with business continuity planning, training and exercises
- Work with common IT systems such as DCIM, ServiceNow ticketing, change management, incidents and other work tracking
