This is a 24/7/365 position on-site in Abilene, Texas. The role involves daily job duties such as hardware installation and decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure, fixing and repairing data center hardware and networking infrastructure within Service Level Agreements (SLA), and the rack and stack of data center equipment. Responsibilities also include landing racks, cabling, powering up servers, and handing them off to internal provisioning teams. The technician will handle daily work through internal tooling systems like JIRA and Confluence, perform problem-solving with some assistance, document activities, and adhere strictly to SOPs. Inventory management, including receiving, tracking, and shipping data center equipment, is also a key part of the role. Additionally, the technician will install, label, and fix fiber/copper/telecom cables and patch panel systems, understand and align with local site requirements, and be punctual for shifts, providing proper handover reports. The position requires on-call emergency support at predetermined times and participation in training to bridge skill gaps and learn new technologies. The technician will support and receive direction from senior team members, exercise judgment within defined policies and processes, and work on problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of various factors. This role is developing professional expertise and applying company policies and procedures to resolve issues.
