About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Specialist to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role will focus on managing and improving site security operations within AWS data centers, ensuring the highest standards of data security for customers. The position involves overseeing physical security operations, developing procedures, handling incidents, working with security equipment, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, flexibility, and exceptional knowledge of security practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience
• Experience in one or more of the following fields: technical, security or privacy education/training, information security, risk management, corporate communications, program management, project management, psychology or other related field
• 6+ months' experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment
• Resilient leadership skills
• Flexibility to work in dynamic environment
• Exceptional knowledge of security practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to make sound decisions in dynamic situations

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 2+ years of law enforcement or security-related experience

• Managing security-related tickets, including processing badge access requests, coordinating vendor escorts, and handling security system maintenance requests
• Overseeing the security guard force operations
• Verifying SLA compliance
• Conducting random post inspections
• Participating in security team meetings to review metrics, discuss process improvements, and coordinate upcoming projects
• Updating security procedures
• Completing required reports
• Reviewing camera footage
• Documenting incidents
• Responding to security incidents or alarms
• Maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and internal teams
