About The Position

Salute is seeking a Data Center Security Officer for its site in Afton, Texas. The officer conducts unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols, controls access and egress, monitors CCTV and alarm systems, prepares reports, deters criminal activity and misconduct, and performs duties specified in post orders. Officers are trained to work all posts at the assigned site and must be available for day, night, and flex shifts.

Requirements

Customer service experience.
Team player with a helpful disposition.
Excellent computer skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen; the employer has a zero-tolerance drug policy.
Texas DPS Guard Card.
Ability to work overtime when required.
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
Basic physical fitness to respond to emergencies and navigate areas quickly.
Ability to move quickly and efficiently through varied work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform detail-oriented tasks while wearing safety glasses.
Ability to distinguish color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
Ability to work in a wide range of indoor temperatures and outdoors in varied weather, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
Valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required.

Responsibilities

Patrol the facility’s exterior grounds.
Control access at gates and ensure only authorized personnel enter.
Manage gate traffic flow without disrupting business operations.
Maintain access logs.
Monitor cameras after normal working hours.
Notify the Shift Lead or Supervisor of issues.
Observe and report suspicious activity.
Remain aware of surroundings and identify conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Observe departing personnel and protect against theft of company property; ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
Communicate security policies and issues as needed and warn people about rule violations, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and control or direct traffic.
Perform duties specified in post orders, including unarmed patrols, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, report writing, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct.
