About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role is responsible for driving operational security excellence across multiple facilities. The manager will identify and address physical security gaps, manage vendors for security construction and operations, analyze security metrics, and propose improvements to electronic surveillance and access control systems. Additionally, the role involves educating data center occupants on false alarm reduction, developing and implementing security processes and procedures, and communicating security status to management through reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
• Experience with access control and CCTV systems.
• 6+ months' experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.

Nice To Haves

• Additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.
• College Degree (Bachelors) or Background in one or more of: Military (Career/Military Police/Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority (Police Academy Graduate), TSA Security Screening, Correctional Facility Officer
• 2+ years Security experience or equivalent (demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education)
• 1+ year Leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Drive operational security excellence in several separate facilities.
• Discover physical security gaps and shortcomings and drive to fix them immediately.
• Interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning.
• Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.
• Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and access controls.
• Direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions.
• Write and implement security process and procedures.
• Write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
