About The Position

AECOM is seeking Data Center Quality Assurance Inspectors nationally. This position can be remote. The role involves inspecting building systems, including mechanical and electrical, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards. Inspectors will review contractor shop drawings and submittals, monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems, and identify and report non-conformances. They will also maintain detailed inspection reports, oversee corrective actions, witness critical tests, and verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations. Collaboration with contractors, engineers, and other inspectors is essential, as is maintaining professionalism and representing the client's interests.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + four years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years of experience with construction and/or quality management.
  • CQM or other professional certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect building systems, including mechanical and electrical, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
  • Review contractor shop drawings and submitters to confirm alignment with project specifications.
  • Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems, confirming proper functionality and performance.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality control and compliance tracking.
  • Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts.
  • Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups.
  • Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
  • Work closely with contractors, engineers, and other inspectors to resolve issues.
  • Maintain professionalism in attire and communication during all time on site and in meetings.
  • Represent the Client in alignment with contract requirements and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate client Outage / Shutdown Procedure.
  • Coordinate GC Workplan and advise if the construction contractor fails to promptly remove, correct, or replace unacceptable construction work, and assess any delays caused by such failure.
