About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager to join its Infrastructure Operations team. This role is responsible for driving operational security excellence across multiple facilities. The individual will identify and address physical security gaps, manage vendors for security construction and operations, analyze security metrics, and propose improvements to electronic surveillance and access control systems. Additionally, the role involves educating data center occupants on false alarm reduction, developing and implementing security processes and procedures, and reporting on physical security operations to management.

Requirements

• Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
• One year experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the administration and operation of: access control systems (Lenel, Milestone) and CCTV systems with digital recording
• Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and reliability in fulfilling security responsibilities
• Experience working in highly regulated environments

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Background in one or more of: Military (Career/Military Police/Military Special Operations Forces), Law Enforcement with Arrest Authority (Police Academy Graduate), TSA Security Screening or Correctional Facility Officer
• 2+ years Security experience or equivalent (demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education)
• 1+ year Leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Drive operational security excellence in several separate facilities.
• Discover physical security gaps and shortcomings and drive to fix them immediately.
• Interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning.
• Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.
• Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and access controls.
• Direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions.
• Write and implement security process and procedures.
• Write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
