About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. This role involves working with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to support AWS data centers and their associated equipment. The position requires collaboration across AWS to maintain high standards of safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. The Network Deploy Technician will join a growing team within infrastructure operations, working with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and contribute to automation and scaling efforts. The role involves supporting multiple data center locations, assisting with capacity management, and collaborating with internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution under the direction of Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. The technician will leverage experience in supporting large-scale enterprise networks, network implementation, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced, collaborative setting with regular customer interaction. Responsibilities include establishing and following best practices, refining operational procedures, and managing/supporting AWS's vast network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Work authorization without employer intervention

Nice To Haves

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools), or experience in managing and troublshooting network
  • Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

Responsibilities

  • Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
  • Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required
