About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continuous access to innovation. This role involves working with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to maintain the highest standards of safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest cost. The position is within infrastructure operations, focusing on the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and automating network scaling. The role supports multiple data center locations, assists with capacity management, and collaborates with internal customers and external vendors for project execution. It requires supporting large-scale enterprise networks, network implementation, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities include establishing and refining operational procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Work authorization without employer intervention

Nice To Haves

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies
  • Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+)
  • Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters
  • Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

Responsibilities

  • Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
  • Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
