About The Position

The Data Center Lead is responsible for the proper configuration and support of domain system servers, SAN, backup systems, identity management, and security of the datacenter. The Data Center Lead is also responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of data center facilities.

Requirements

  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years' experience, or substitute with 9+ years of progressive experience in serving as a data center system administrator.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience maintaining a high availability datacenter.
  • Experience with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google cloud services.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere platform.
  • Extensive experience in both application development/sustainment as well as operational support for large, highly scalable applications.
  • Applicable Computing Environment /Operating Server Certification.
  • IAT Level II Certification is required to Start (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification.
  • A NACLC Public Trust Clearance is required to Start.
  • This role requires customer approval, suitability to hold a public trust and successful completion of a preemployment background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Managing staff, monitoring systems, and implementing policies to ensure optimal performance and data security.
  • Collaborating with various departments to support business objectives and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensuring the 24/7 operation and security of the data center.
  • Managing and training data center staff and technicians.
  • Overseeing installation, maintenance, and upgrades of data center infrastructure during or after work hours.
  • Monitoring system performance and overseeing troubleshooting efforts.
  • Implementing and enforcing data center policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors for equipment and services.
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery and backup plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments of data center operations.
