About The Position

The Company is a premier acoustic and technology design consulting firm that has worked with world-class developers, architects, and large end-user clients for more than 60 years, and is now part of Trinity Consultants, a multi-billion-dollar company headquartered in Dallas, TX. We are seeking an experienced ICT Technical Lead to provide management and design oversight for outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) pathways and cabling systems on large-scale, multi-building data center campus projects, including hyperscale campus developments. This role ensures design quality and consistency, and on-time delivery of client projects. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrable experience managing engineers designing multiple projects. Strong interpersonal, project management, and client management skills are required. Knowledge of large-scale outside plant conduits, duct banks, manholes, and distribution systems, data center equipment layout, and multi-tier cabling pathways is necessary. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) design delivery is a must.

Requirements

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • General knowledge of (or aptitude to quickly grasp) data center infrastructure pathways and cabling concepts.
  • General knowledge of (or aptitude to quickly grasp) BIM design workflows, model coordination, clash detection.
  • Experience in ICT infrastructure design, with demonstrated leadership on large data center or mission-critical campus projects.
  • Deep expertise in OSP pathways and cabling (duct banks, manholes, diverse routing, campus fiber systems).
  • Strong expertise in ISP pathways and cabling (tray/ladder rack systems, equipment layouts, backbone and distribution cabling).
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and codes (TIA, BICSI, NEC, client hyperscale standards).
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, perform design reviews, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • BS in Engineering, Technology-oriented studies, Business Management, or another relevant degree.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in ICT infrastructure design, including demonstrated technical leadership and team leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hyperscale data center design experience for cloud or large enterprise clients.
  • BICSI RCDD (or equivalent) certification.
  • Familiarity with Revit-based BIM workflows and large-scale coordination models.
  • Experience developing internal design standards and reusable details.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical authority for OSP and ISP pathways and cabling design across data center campus projects.
  • Lead the development of scalable standards for underground duct banks, vaults, building entrances, and campus fiber/copper distribution.
  • Provide technical leadership for inside plant systems including cable tray, ladder rack, equipment layouts, backbone and horizontal cabling.
  • Review and approve design packages, ensuring compliance with client standards, constructability, and long-term scalability.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and BIM teams to resolve complex cross-discipline issues.
  • Guide team members through design challenges related to hyperscale capacity, redundancy, diversity, and future expansion.
  • Support client engagement, technical workshops, and design reviews.
  • Translate client operational requirements into buildable designs.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement.

  • Constant interaction with team members working on multiple projects.
  • Communicate and work closely with the Managing Principal, New York regional office.
  • Continuous oversight and supervision of data center projects in the areas of programming and design, through construction administration and testing/commissioning.
  • Manage and attend client and other stakeholder meetings and oversee completion of tasks, development of deliverables, and execution of construction supervision.
  • Monitor and supervise development of project deliverables along the milestone schedules and timelines of multiple projects tracked by Project Manager.
  • Manage project priorities to ensure consistent design and deliverables between different projects.
  • Track and monitor all projects against budgeted hours – identify need for shifting of workflows and resource allocations as necessary.
  • Develop and execute QA/QC plans.
  • Budgeting, tracking, and monitoring of financial metrics.
  • Contribution and margin ($ and %).
  • A/R oversight, including the team's efforts to collect on overdue accounts.
