Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fiber Technician within a data center, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data center environments and operational procedures.
  • Experience interpreting cabling diagrams, floor plans, and technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • CFOT or equivalent Fiber Optic Certification
  • ECS/CSCS Card (where applicable)
  • Experience working in live production environments
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems and network infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cabling within the data center environment
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities and support network infrastructure deployments
  • Conduct fiber patching, cable routing, labeling, and cable management activities
  • Test and certify fiber links using OTDRs, light source/power meters, and other testing environment
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and diagnose faults within fiber networks
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, test results, and network documentation
  • Support Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) activities across the data center
  • Work closely with network engineers, implementation managers, and third-party vendors
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health & safety standards and site procedures
  • Assist with data center migrations and projects as required.
