Data Center Engineer

Zayo Group•Los Angeles, CA
•$90,000 - $118,600

About The Position

The Data Center Engineer is the engineering tier of the Data Center Operations team and the technical owner of fiber and connectivity for Zayo’s Los Angeles data centers and POPs. The role owns connectivity requests and fiber projects end to end, from feasibility and design through provisioning, turn-up, and close-out. In coordination with Fiber Engineering and other specialist teams, the engineer owns dark-fiber and cross-connect provisioning, splice and panel assignments, circuit turn-up, and fiber records and capacity. The position works at the system level, taking ownership of root cause and prevention while maintaining working knowledge of the full data center system, including power, cooling, space, and remote hands. It reports to the Data Center Manager and works closely with that manager to translate operational priorities, customer requirements, and connectivity needs into technically sound execution.
