About The Position

Apollo’s SkillBridge Program equips transitioning US Military service members with the technical skills, field experience, and industry certifications needed to thrive in the data center commissioning sector. We are seeking highly motivated service members to participate in our Data Center QA/QC Engineer in Training Program, where trainees will gain hands-on experience working on mission-critical projects under the mentorship of senior engineers. This immersive program ensures that all electrical and mechanical equipment meets required specifications and is inspected and installed correctly before commissioning begins. Activities will include, but are not limited to, inspecting and validating key equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, medium voltage gear, UPS systems, HVAC units, and Building Management Systems (BMS), reviewing pre-installation checks, pre-energization testing, and overseeing the timely delivery and installation of electrical and mechanical components.

Requirements

  • Active duty or Veteran service member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • Hands-on experience working with electrical systems in a military, industrial, or mission-critical environment (e.g., base facilities, ships, aircraft, or field operations).
  • Foundational understanding of electrical distribution systems, power generation, UPS systems, or control systems — either through direct work experience or formal technical training.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to solve complex problems under pressure.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional civilian teams and clients.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office).
  • Successful background check, including pre-employment drug screening
  • US citizens, permanent residents or any candidate with eligibility to work in the US

  • experience with Procore, CxAlloy, or other commissioning platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review design specifications and construction plans to ensure all quality and compliance requirements are identified and integrated.
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of equipment to confirm compliance with project specifications before commissioning begins.
  • Perform on-site inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment to verify that materials, systems, and components meet all required standards.
  • Conduct pre-installation checks and tests, ensuring any non-conformities are documented & corrected before installation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that the supply chain and construction processes are aligned with quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, tests, and quality reports, communicating findings to the project team.
  • Implement and enforce relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards across all stages of the project.
  • Participate in quality audits and help identify potential risks or areas for improvement to maintain high standards of project execution.
