About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Construction Manager. This role will operate at the cross-section between multiple divisional personnel, senior leadership, program management, and key stakeholders. This position will be on site in Charlotte, NC. The role involves leading end-to-end management of workplace construction and renovation projects from concept through occupancy, managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource planning. The Construction Manager will coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycles, overseeing tenant improvements (TI), office renovations, workplace modernization initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades. Ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and corporate standards is crucial. The role also includes strategic planning of office and labs, managing contractor selection, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and project execution. Monitoring construction progress, conducting site inspections, resolving project issues proactively, tracking project budgets, approving invoices, managing change orders, and providing financial reporting are key duties. The Construction Manager will partner with Facilities, IT, Security, EHS, HR, and business leaders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • BA/BS plus eight years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Strong understanding of quality and safety culture, regulatory compliance, assurance, and governance expectations.
  • OSHA 30 certification with experience creating a strong safety culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hyperscale mission critical/data center construction projects.
  • PMP or similar certifications preferred.
  • 20 years of related experience.
