Requirements

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and operational drivers, with the ability to connect data insights to business performance and strategic outcomes.
  • Proven capability in establishing data standards, ownership, controls, and stewardship practices that ensure accurate, consistent, and trusted enterprise data.
  • Demonstrated strength in business analytics and related tools, delivering decision-ready insights through dashboards, reporting, and analytical models.
  • Expertise in collaborating with Finance, Operations, IT, and executive stakeholders, translating business needs into aligned data and analytics solutions.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience across business intelligence, analytics, data governance, finance analytics, or operations analytics roles within a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated success operating in data-constrained or immature data environments, where data integrity issues, inconsistent definitions, and fragmented reporting required hands-on leadership and foundational improvement.
  • Proven ability to own and enhance end-to-end data flows, from source systems through data transformation, modeling, and delivery of executive-level reporting and insights.
  • Hands-on experience delivering decision-support analytics for senior leadership, including the CFO, COO, and functional executives, enabling fact-based strategic and operational decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; master’s degree (MBA or MS with a focus on analytics, strategy, or operations) preferred.
  • Professional Certifications (Preferred) – CPA, CMA, CFA, CBIP, or equivalent credentials demonstrating advanced expertise in finance, analytics, and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and enforce enterprise data standards, definitions, and clear data ownership across critical business and financial domains.
  • Design and implement robust data quality controls, including validation rules, reconciliation checks, and exception reporting, to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and auditability of data used for financial and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with functional leaders to establish effective data stewardship practices, clearly defining responsibility for data ownership, maintenance, and issue resolution.
  • Document, standardize, and govern KPIs, metrics, and calculation logic to eliminate conflicting outputs and ensure a single, trusted version of the truth.
  • Translate strategic and operational business questions from the CFO, COO, and functional leaders into structured analyses, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain decision-ready business intelligence assets (e.g., Power BI dashboards, management reports, KPI scorecards) that clearly link operational drivers to financial outcomes.
  • Ensure all BI outputs are fully traceable to source data, with transparent logic, documented assumptions, and a high degree of confidence in data accuracy.
  • Proactively identify insights, trends, and data gaps impacting profitability, growth, cash flow, and operational efficiency, delivering actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Act as a strategic bridge between Finance, Operations, IT, and business teams, ensuring data initiatives are aligned with real-world operational and financial decision-making needs.
  • Guide teams in the effective and responsible use of data by promoting best practices for interpretation, understanding limitations, and appropriate application of analytics.
  • Support continuous process improvement efforts by embedding data integrity, governance, and analytics into core workflows such as forecasting, planning, and performance management.
