About The Position

Girikon is looking to hire a full-time Data Bricks Engineer/ Technical Lead. The consultant will join the team only after the successful completion of Background check, Reference check, E-Verify process & Drug Test. Applications coming through Agencies will not be considered. This role involves leading the architecture, design, and delivery of a modern enterprise data warehouse using Databricks and cloud technologies, acting as the primary technical point of contact between client stakeholders and offshore development teams, and mentoring offshore engineering teams. The position requires developing and implementing scalable ETL/ELT solutions, creating and optimizing large-scale data processing workflows, establishing coding standards and best practices, and partnering with business stakeholders to gather requirements and shape technical roadmaps. Responsibilities also include contributing to sprint planning, maintaining platform scalability and security, leading issue resolution and performance tuning, and supporting data governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Data Engineering/Data Warehousing.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience.
  • Strong expertise in Spark, PySpark, SQL, Python, Delta Lake, and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience leading offshore/distributed teams and client-facing engagements
  • Azure cloud experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Public sector experience preferred.
  • Databricks/Azure certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and successful delivery of a modern enterprise data warehouse leveraging Databricks and cloud-based technologies.
  • Act as the primary onsite technical point of contact between client stakeholders and offshore development teams.
  • Coordinate, mentor, and manage offshore engineering teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely project execution.
  • Develop and implement scalable ETL/ELT solutions to integrate data across various systems and departments.
  • Create and optimize large-scale data processing workflows using Spark, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
  • Establish coding standards, review processes, development methodologies, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, analysts, and project managers to gather requirements and shape technical roadmaps.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, effort estimation, backlog management, and overall delivery governance.
  • Maintain platform scalability, security, data integrity, and operational stability.
  • Lead issue resolution, performance tuning, and ongoing production support initiatives.
  • Support the development of long-term data governance frameworks and analytics strategies.
