About The Position

This position provides support for biological research and data management at the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD). WYNDD is a key resource for information on Wyoming's species and habitats of conservation concern, serving various agencies, consultants, and the public. The data, analyses, and expertise from WYNDD contribute to effective natural resource management and environmental regulation compliance.

Requirements

  • Must be a current UW student.
  • Must be eligible, have received, and accepted a work-study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • An interest in wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, botany, and/or vegetation communities.
  • All majors and backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry, filing, and sorting of aquatic invertebrates.
  • Other duties associated with research and data management for species and vegetation communities of conservation concern in Wyoming.
  • Duties may include sorting aquatic insects and pinning pollinators in a lab setting.
  • Potential for summer employment as a biological technician.
