Data Architect

UnisysLong Beach, CA

About The Position

This role involves working with business leads and systems implementation partners to define database/data warehousing requirements and data interfaces. You will conduct data model reviews with project team members and business subject matter experts, and collaborate with other architects and engineering leads to integrate data security, management, and engineering excellence into all solutions. The position requires consulting with internal teams and client stakeholders on proposed solutions, including their development, deployment, and usage. A key aspect of this role is leveraging automation to accelerate and optimize solutions. You will work with internal resources and system implementation partners to design Data Warehouse and DataMart structures, identify data requirements and related KPIs/metrics, and perform/document data source gap analysis. You will also participate in and drive proof-of-concept or prototyping of data systems and solutions. This role involves participating in architectural reviews to ensure best patterns are in place and to identify upstream and downstream side effects. The focus will be heavily on stakeholder engagement and data modeling, with less emphasis on enterprise or infrastructure architecture. You will create documents to ensure consistency in development across the organization, understand data flows within the organization and stakeholder needs, and manage the data management workstream. This includes assessing logical and physical data models required for delivery and enabling the build of a greenfield data warehouse on top of an existing data lake to support effective analytics. You will facilitate conceptual discussions to meet business objectives, define usage patterns and anti-patterns for data systems, processing, modeling, and storage technologies, and bring a holistic brand and enterprise view into new data system design. You will work within and across practices and organizations to design leading-edge technology or application solutions that result in profitable revenue growth for Unisys. This includes conceptualizing, architecting, designing, implementing, and supporting integrated solutions for client engagements. You will demonstrate extensive knowledge of industry, technology, and strategy trends to generate profitable revenue growth and build relationships with product development organizations, acting as a key product champion. You will advise, analyze, research, design, install, and implement complex integrated solutions for an entire enterprise, interfacing extensively with the client’s senior management team on business, systems architectural, and technical issues. Additionally, you will provide mentoring and team leadership to other architects, develop integrated technology requirements project plans, and integrate complex solutions into new or existing client environments using advanced diagnostic, analytical, and design capabilities to ensure the best solution is provided to the customer.
