About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a Data Architect to design data models and architecture for a large federal data-lake platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role initially focuses on shaping how a federal data lake and its data stores fit together, including S3 with Apache Iceberg tables, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and Amazon DynamoDB. The architect will establish models and schemas for new and migrated data sources, restructure the existing data ecosystem to reduce redundancy and protect data integrity and accessibility, and ensure access remains governed. The work supports a regulated environment where accuracy and auditability are essential. The role is hybrid in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with commuting cadence varying by assignment. The initial engagement requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. The position is full-time W-2, with a salary of $112,000 to $170,000 per year. Peregrine describes a collaborative culture centered on ownership, learning, and solving problems through people, process, and technology. Employees work alongside developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists and may contribute across assignments and clients, from strategy through implementation.
